I had an 1983 (2 door) Cutlass Supreme RWD with 4.3L V6 Diesel engine which was actually a great car, served me well for a daily driver for the 3yrs I had it. Lent it to a family member one time who filled the gas tank with gasoline, and that was the end of that. I swapped in a 350 Olds gas engine, and my sister drove it for many more years after that.
A good way to kill any diesel engine. Was it the TH200C with those motors? If they would have done a TH2004R and a 3.23 or 3.42 gear combo, it would have got out of it's own way. My understanding is no Olds diesel ever came with a TH2004R trans.

Yes it was 200C iirc, 3 speed, with locking torque converter.

Are those serpentine belt systems compatible with other olds motors? Like a 403 or 307, 455
Yes, people have made the RWD version work with mild mods. The FWD version is different, including the water pump. Problem is, almost none were made. There is now adapter brackets to run the sbc truck serpentine set up on the Olds V8, using them on my 88 Cutlass.

Seems like it's possible as a starting point, but you'd probably have a tough time to find one at this point.

Actually the guy that makes those adapter brackets just posted this morning with pictures of the brackets on a BBO engine.
