Now just copy and paste link(s) to your thread(s) and save changes.

I found your thread but it took a little looking. I'll have to binge it later. What's up with that 4th gen TA lately? Is the paint on the top holding up?

Actually sold the trans am when my wife was having some health issues. She ended up in a wheel chair for almost a year. Fully recovered now but sadly the car had to go to make ends meet

My score for the year. An elderly fellow had 3 D blocks and 1 DX block for sale.
Snagged them all up.
Yes the 5.7 is very problematic, seen some motors with turbos installed. Apparently it helps alot with them.
From my understanding the difference between the 2, the mains are beefier in the DX and also has .921 lifters.
But...... if you want to make killer hp, stroke ones of these babies. They have 3 inch mains, many use a 425 crank in them. I know a gentleman that builds custom cranks for these builds. Also apparently you can bore these way over

Insane score!!! There was a few here in Michigan but someone snatched them up within 3 hrs.

If I told you the price, your jaw would drop. Lol
Possible but I've come across some deals that would be unbelievable.

For example an older gentleman near me, I come across an Ad he had on craigslist about a 6.2 engine, went to go look at and he ended up having 15+ Olds diesel engs, some brand new in eng crates, nos parts etc I asked about em guy was in his mid-80s. Didn't know the market for them (in today's day) since they had such a bad Rep back then. Figured they were scrap. He told me $250 for all of it. Easily $2000+ in engs & parts.

A few engs i got running again and sold off to friends in Denmark etc for $12-1500 alone (Not counting s/h).

Deals are out there for nearly anything Olds but a 455. They are $500 minimum, usually knocking or 8 to 1 J head motors. Another reason why I don't buy them or plan on building one. I picked up a great running 76 350 for $120, he wanted $150. It had 140 to 142 psi after installing the compression robbing Performer cam and 20+ psi hot idle in gear, 25+ psi in park and 50 cruising with 5W30 oil. It still had shim head gaskets and the nylon looked perfect on the timing set. He had a knocking 455 that he would sell but it was much more valuable. I said no thanks and took the great running 350. The Olds Diesel has a tiny market, so yeah almost no demand.
