You can get a master rebuild kit for your motor from this site. Its the place I bought my engine kit from. Kit comes with everything, including pistons.

from your sig pic looks like a 15" tire or so, so this is what i put in on the cal, so you have an idea.

215-65/15 tire is 26" diameter

rpm 2500
rear axel 3.42
trans gear 1.00 ratio
tire dia 26"
mph 57 on freeway

keep it the same a slap in a 3.08 for 3.42 and your final speed is 63 mph

You don't really think this guy is going to rebuild your engine CORRECTLY for $150? :? What's this guy charge to balance an engine? 75 cents? :lol:

Your car's slow because you have the worst gearing available ( 2.14 ) in these cars. Do the gearing, tuning, and a nice exhaust system, and you'll have WAY more performance. I think it's a total waste of money to do a cheapo rebuild on a slug motor when you're just going to chuck it in favor of a 350 later on anyway. Don't put any money into your 307 that can't be swapped over to your 350.

3.42+ gears can be annoying to drive on the highway without an overdrive. Consider a 2004r transmission if you want this type of gearing and you think this would be a problem for you. Try this; drive your car on the highway in second gear with your 350 transmission. Note the reving, noise, and milage. This would be the equivalent of driving in 3rd gear with 3.25 rear gears. So 3.42 rear end gears would be even more extreme. If you think you can handle that, go for it.
 
yes he is really going to rebuild it for 150. he is a friend of the family and i bring him alot of business from the cars i beat in lil races..so yeh i get a big discount..that price was not including parts..and i forgot to mention that price was with me helping him out at his shop..so 150 is ok for him to rebuild..as for the gears i thought that little calculator thingy worked good but i guess i was wrong. im going to look into the 3.23 gears in the am on summitracing. now what about a posi ? whats a good posi for my car ?

so i have been trying to meet up with JR (Cali Generalz Car Club) for the last 2 -3 weeks and it hasnt worked because of my girlfriend..i think she is tryin to keep me away from my car and the road..after the dodger game once again i didnt go get the fan because she had some type of hater excuse about driving.(can even remember what she said cause it was so dumb) SO I JUST LEFT HER ALONE..kinda threw a fit but oh well lOl..came home from work today and what do i see on the couch...Brand New Lincon Mark 8 Electric Fan (two speed fan) , Coolant , Spark Plugs , & Msd Spark Plug Wires.What can i say i love this woman..now i am staying up all night to prep the fan to be installed early in the am. drinks & smoking on me tonight...im in a good mood

Decided to paint my fans since everything else under my hood will be painted soon...IMO i hate krylon paint ( the red is krylon)..glad im finally making progress.

the car is back in business...got it running a good 190-210 degrees with out any coolant in the car..(will buy some friday with my check). transmission is shifting great.i think i need to tune the carb.but thats nothing big..felt good to drive around town with the music loud...oh i have one small problem..one of my pullys wont stop squeaking.its real loud when the car is in park but when i drop it into drive it get a lil quiet..how can i stop this problem ?
