I havent heard anything good about mondello. When I was into oldsmobiles everyone always told me their business practices were terrible.

You might want to still. Get a list of stuff done to it. Worse case scenario you could part the engine out for over a 1k if you had to. This isnt small block chevy stuff that is super cheap and easily available. Olds stuff is a touch harder to find although still plentiful and people want a lot of money for olds stuff.

Buy it. It's hard to go wrong with that deal even if something wasn't told and he threw in a little bs. If not you might still have a car that's as fast as that 383 as you probably still have an 70 foot pound torque advantage which would offset the 100hp. Plus it would make a better street car motor at the same et/mph in the same car as you don't have to spin the snot out of it to get the power. It wouldnt require the gear or converter either.

If your boss n buddy have good credibility you are especially good to go.

actually those aren't bad ideas, now I am gonna consider buying it. thanks
Buy it and put it in the monte! Im putting money aside for my 425/455 project when the engine machining and building class comes around at school then the resulting engine will be at home in my SS. I thought I was gonna be unique 😢

An 83. I have a 70 455 and a 65-66 425 in my garage. The 455 is already .030 over and im thinking about destroking the 455 with the forged 425 crank

ooo that sounds pretty sick, If I don't get the 455 I'm going to get a 383 stroker in my Monte. and the 455's from 1970 are the best ones I believe
