I just picked up a LS1 out of a 99 Trans Am for $1,500 and a recently a 04 GTO LS1 with a T56 came up sale for 2700.00 on Craigslist. I bought my Ls1 without a trans and found a rebuilt 4l60e trans for around 900 without a core..

Should i go and buy the 4l60E or try and get the 04 GTO engine/trans combo? I really wanted to do a manual trans swap but since i got the 99 Ls1 i figured i might as well continue the auto trans swap and it being BUILT UP i it would be OK..i know if if i decide do the T56 swap i would have to get a manual trans computer and harness..
