6.0 not quite running right

After talking to him again the engine is a 60 over 350, which is a 6.0. He said its better than a LS engine. It just won't rev out to 7000 like it should. I think it is geared wrong with 5.38 rear.
Yeah, that is why sbc and even some BOPC guys have switched because 1955 technology is better. If you want a high rpm V8, can't get much better than a LS. Hopefully the motor isn't a mess inside.

Based on that statement I would question everything that he is telling you. run!

This dude has to be a troll.

If he's not, then WOW

I have 1979 Malibu wagon with a 6.0, cam, Holley carb, headers, etc. I was expecting it to rev past 7000rpm without issue, but it struggles to get to 6500. Best 1/4 to date is 14.38 at 111.4. Something is holding it back. Where to start?
Cam is in upside down and backwards.

Well I guess the OP can now change his name to SBCwagon instead of LSwagon

Unless you have A LOT of $ into that engine, I don't see it actually pulling to 7k rpm or higher. Think shaft style rockers, huge aluminum heads, massive headers, etc.

Small block Chevy, 7000 rpm, yeah you need decent dollars. At the least a good set of heads and intake, decent cam with enough duration, balance the bottom end and arp rod bolts a must. You probably can’t push it past 6500 because it physically can’t move the air at that speed.

Lol, 6.0. my mind went right to an LS.
