Yeah, don't get me wrong. It was just a truck engine. It did that job well though.I believe the 366 BBC did all come with the 3.76 forged crank but the rest of the engine was far from anything from the performance world with a small bore of 3.935 and low compression tall deck block using a 6.135 rod on a heavy piston with 4 rings and reeving that baby up to a max of 4,500 RPM and you get the bonus of adding the weight of a big block without the benefit of adding cubic inches.
The one I had seen was in a late 60's dump truck, I was surprised to find they made a version of these into the 90's but like you said they did what they were designed for well.Yeah, don't get me wrong. It was just a truck engine. It did that job well though.
