You would be better served by asking this question on LS1tech.com. In my opinion, 600 HP at the wheels would be difficult to do on a budget and would require some expensive hardware. For 600rwhp NA you will need high rpm, a performance intake, good aftermarket heads (400cfm+) roller rockers, correct valve springs and headers. You will spend a lot of money. plus injectors, tuning and possibly a fuel pump. If you really need that power level then going with a turbo would be the most cost effective. 400-450 rwhp is much more feasible. Why do you think you need 600? The chassis on your G body will not handle that power level without big modifications.

A 500-550 hp n/a engine is doable with a stock block or have it punched .030 over, stock crank, and stock LS3 heads or possibly even some 243/799 heads, your choice of a carb or fi, and a cam swap.

600 crank or 600 wheel? Thats going to make a difference on what mods you want to do. I put a stock ly6 6.0 short block with a set of 243's and a texas speed bald eagle cam, and it made 435 at the tires through a 4l80 and 8.5 and my dyno guy is estimated a little over 500 at the crank.

LS9 cam and a Procharger D1SC or D1X and call it a day. This is the basic combo in my TBSS and it is making an easy 650hp. I wish I had done this with my wagon.

Hard. The difficult part is the word ‘budget’.

So is everyone assuming the OP thinks a LQ9 is a 454? Post #4
Maybe he has both?
