i need an alternator for my 79 cutlass 305 v8. according to factory i need a 63amp alternator would it make any different if i put alternator with higher amps like 100 amp. i notice in the summer time when i used to turn on the ac the altenator gauge will move to the yellow mark. please help thank you.

I just talked to my uncle about the same thing and he told me I should put a higher amp alternator in my car. He told me with higher amps I will be able to run more things in your car at one time. That’s the only different. Someone also told me to just make sure if I get a higher amp alternator to make sure it mounts the same.
