When i get to a certain speed, this roaring sound starts, it also does it on deceleration and stops when i fall below that certain speed. i did have a driveshaft problem a few months ago but i dont think its related. what do u guys think? how do i knw the rear end is about to take a poop?

most likely a bad bearing. could be the pinion or the axles.

IIRC, jack up the rear axle and check the pinion and wheels for vertical play. most likely it's the axles. if so, now's a good time to also do the brake cylinders and maybe the backing plates, as you need to remove the axles for all of the above.

checked the fluids for metal.....not even a bit of fur on my magnet, gears checked good, no play in the pinion, wheels checked good. How do i check my axles????

At this point you may have to put it on jack stands and run it up to speed and see if you hear the noise. Sometimes applying the brakea helps here too. If you do have the noise, and a second person, use a stethoscope or length of hose to listen to various parts of the rear for where its loudest.

what certain speed does the "roaring" begin and stop? low? High? Any vibrations?

I think it's time to upgrade to an 8.5 if you can get one.
