HI guys and gals.........I love my 700r4 in my '84 and am very happy with it.....The only thing I DON'T like about it is the Stall Converter...It's a 2000 stall converter non lock up....MY cam makes power from 1500-6500 ( Performer RPM 234/244 duration 488/510 lift) I haven't taken it to the track yet but I think this low stall will slow me down....thoughts and opinions..what are you guys and gals running????

Re: 7--r4 cStall Converter options

I've got a big cam too, 0.495lift with 0.236dur @0.050

... I'm using a 3000rpm stall, with lockup... I can footbrake to about 1800rpm before launch. It slips and catches at about 2500 to 3000 after letting off the brakes.

with 3.42 gears, it runs at 2100rpm at 60mph on highway. With lockup engaged, it drops to 1800rpm

Khan, You ever take that bada$$ ride of yours to the track? If so, what times are you getting...........

I've taken it to the track a bunch of times... but
1. this is the first car I've raced with and I'm still learning
2. the only track close to me sucks *ss, has pot holes and bumps, it's badly prep'd, and gives terrible times
3. I've personally only run slicks once

... and that one time, with slicks, and trying hard, I only managed a 13.5 @ 97 because my rockers went horribley loose and my car fell flat at the top end (should be pulling 103 or 104mph thru the traps). later shot 3 pushrods out...

BUT... that being said, I've seen this car run 12.9 @107 by the previous owner. And with the valve issues sorted out, I hope to get out to a proper track this year and hit 13.1 or 13.0

I bet your monster will hit low 12s with those 4.10s, a proper stall, and your motor build.
