78 cutlass W-31 build

I can't stop thinking about it. Ok so something is wrong with the distributor but why the hell did it only run 180 out? It doesn't make any sense.
I wonder if somehow the pickup coil is ****ed up. You sure the plug wire routing was Oldsmobile counter clockwise? Just weird, I also have never seen that. The cheap Chinese HEI worked fine if you need a replacement. They have a points timing curve. I swapped the coil and module for fancy ones but they are probably fine. It looks like $60 shipped on Ebay. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/BRAND-NEW-D...d=link&campid=5335822911&toolid=20001&mkevt=1

Is the rotor somehow on backwards?
No and it makes no sense we even tried some old olds firing order I found in a Google search and it ran on that too but a bit worse. I may never know what the problem was but it seems to be better now and I'll take that and run with it.

My boss told me to leave the car inside because of the blizzard and it stayed there most of the day while loaders were finding the parking lot. When I fired it up to go out it started right up and the choke worked. I think it's a little tight and the car could use some tuning. But it's the best it ran so far

I figured, but was worth a shot.

Today did not go to plan at all whatsoever! It started out ok. I spent time with the wife this morning then went to go pick up my buddy Eric at a restoration shop where he dropped off his challenger. We both know the owner and one of his customers offered to take us to lunch at his restaurant point pleasant lobster. All good right I thought so. Then Eric and I jumped in my Duramax and headed for Lakewood to pick up a mini like lol tiny micro car van he bought. Well pulling in the the place off RT 88 my temp Guage climbed over 300° . When I went under the hood the bottle was empty and antifreeze was running down the back of the motor. I let it cool off and gave the shop there $20 for a gallon of antifreeze and a gallon of water, it took it all. So Eric jumped in the worlds smallest van and followed me to my shop on the other side of Lakewood where it lost the rest of it's coolant. So my daily is parked next to the cutlass parts for it are ordered but I won't have them until Tuesday or Wednesday. That said the battery charger is on the square body crew and I'm hoping they come up so I have something to drive. If they do I'll drive it to the shop tomorrow and work on the cutlass.

Did I mention Eric and I went to get his pickup together in the van? It's a stick with no heat and the driver's door glass is missing. I'm 6'3" 250 he's 5'8" 350 the van is so small are arms from shoulder to elbow were touching and we were leaning towards the doors! It's like he bought a clown car! Lol it's soon to be the mystery machine.

So far this morning the dually is stuck in 4x and won't start and it's 11° out but that's okay my boss called me because he seen on the camera at work me and Eric abandon my truck for a clown car Lmfao! He wants me to go grab one of the loners from the shop instead of fixing the square body in the ice. My wife is giving me a ride to the parts store so I can pick up some new belts for the cutlass. It has no Alt belt and I want to see if it changes.
