Those can hit the linkage on the carb.

And if they do, just massage it a little until it clears. With a hammer, perhaps.

There is absolutely NO reason to change the intake or carb.

This is what I run on my olds 455 in my cutlass with a quadrajet and torquer intake I have a glass hood but I think it would fit under a stock hood

I believe the best way to go is a cowl hood. We will be pulling motor to stroke this winter. I'm just trying to keep the boy from cutting up his stock hood.
