I wish mine's body were that clean! And wow, I like his spoiler idea. I also really like the look without the fabric roof.. Hmm. Mine needs the rust repaired around it anyway, I had always wondered how it would look without it..

Well I'm driving it to Middletown everyday now so if you happen to see me in your travels don't forget to wave. I surprisingly haven't met a lot of people with gbodies around. Just a lot of "I had one such and such ago". My neighbor across the street from my house has an 83 V6 Cutty though.

Also talked my dad into cussing at the door hinge pin this weekend until it changes itself so my door lines up again. Also probably going to change the lock cylinder because my key keeps getting stuck and isn't easy to turn to the off position.

That's wild, I teach in Middletown! I would love to see your car in person. I'm trying to have my interior look like yours. I have seen malibus and monte carlos from 79-80 with the saddle vinyl interior but never a 79-80 Calais. There is another guy on the forum that has a 79-80 Cutlass and resides in Middletown.

Re: A quick introduction! My new(to me) 79 Cutlass.

I'll be in Middletown on Sunday/Monday until around 5 if you want to take a gander. My interior isn't -that- nice. The car is very photogenic, that's about all. Lol. My headliner is shot and the seat covers are wearing out, plus my A-pillar trim is pretty much shot.

Today we got a nice amount of work done though. Fixed the door hinge pin, which caused a lot of cursing. It also took a little bit of paint off the fender because the door slipped off the jack while we were trying to position it. Sucks, but.. sh*t happens. Got the door aligned properly though, the driver's side was always a bit derpy. It could use a tad more but I'm much happier with it, especially with the fact that it actually closes right and my window seals to the weatherstripping for once. Also adjusted my timing a tad more and got it to a sweet spot, hooray for burn outs again!

But I discovered 2 things today: I need a master cylinder sooner than later and a thermostat housing. There's a hairline crack where it bolts down which is causing it to weep out a tiny bit of coolant here and there. Kinda sucks.

Also anyone have an idea of what carb a 350 Cutlass would have originally came with? I'm getting tired of this Holley double pumper. Seems too big for the motor.

They're currently with one of my friend's getting sandblasted. Hoping to get them back this week so I can get ready to paint'em.

They turned out wonderful. Weather permitting this weekend, it's paint time.

Old rag-joint steering shaft, quite worn out.

Nice Jeep one I got from MC-87-SS. It's happy in its new home.

Also fixed a vacuum issue with my brakes so they aren't all soft anymore and put the bass-blockers on my 3.5" kickers. Successful day!
