7.5 and 8.5 will fail the same way, the Pinion comes loose and from there it's wrecked. Seen quite a few like that in the GM 1/2 ton trucks. 7.5 will fail much sooner, just won't take the abuse as mentioned. I've had my fun with them.

400whp LT1 in my 1995 Z28 took the stock 3.42's for a run

Upgraded to 3.73's and an Auburn Diff. 500whp LS Engine this time with a 1.55 60ft on the prevoius pass. Dropped tire pressures 1psi and firmed up the Coil Overs by one click..

9" and T56 went in after that. Then broke the car. :ROFLMAO:
Literally laughing out loud reading this first time!!!

Oh trust me that Fbody got trashed. Cracked at the start of the front frame rails both sides, broke the windshield, hatch wouldn't shut straight. That was 3 passes with the 408ci LS T56 setup on 26x10.50 Slicks. Got low 11's rowing gears. Full send.

Please provide a little help. I do not know where the retainers marked number 1 go. I've always neglected them.

Also, the springs marked 2 are shorter than the springs marked 3, so I figure the 2 springs go on the adjuster lever, since there are more parts to stack up and the 3 springs go on the front shoe, with less parts to stack up.

Google may have a diagram, where I'd look.
google comes back gbodyforum. It's all good. Brakes are together and I got some E-clips left over. S10 forum says it is used to capture the parking brake lever to the shoe.

they would be correct. it allows the lever to pivot.

And I am rather certain my 1985-1987 brakes don't use the e-clip... nothing to clip (original hardware pic below). Correct me if I'm wrong. Everything looks like it's working I just need to tighten up the passenger cable and bleed tomorrow.

The hardware/spring kit is the same back to the 60s, the early cars used the e clip to replace the retainer from the factory. Later cars do not use them.
