I FINALLY found a 8.5 for my Grand Prix! I pulled it off a 442 that was ready to be scrapped. It is a non-posi 3.73 diff and I paid $250 for it.Now i just need to rebuild it and add a posi. So if i wanted to get one from a salvage yard what could be a good donor?
You stole it! But go back and get the driveshaft so that you don't have to cut shorten yours. Also hope you got the rear sway bar with the rear. Also go back and get the thicker matching front sway bar. Oh maybe jounce bars and quick ratio steering.

 I tried to get the drive shaft but the guy said he may still use it, But if he didn't he would give me a call. As for the sway bar i already have one and all the other parts as well. I did think of pulling them to sell them but it was getting cold and dark. I figured i will try later and see what other parts i can pick. He has another 442 that he is selling but with title "issues" that if it doesn't sell he will be parting out. Hopefully i can score that rear for my 81 GP 8) But he did say there was quite a few people inquiring on it.. Just funny that after complaining about not finding one i find one even though i have been searching for a GRIP!
Hello out there, I would like to know if anybody out there has a 8.5 housing. I'm building a 84 regal with a 400 SBC. Let me know what you want for it. Vmans1969
