i'm doing the same swap in my cutlass i measured out that i would need 5.5 backspace and you will also need adjustable uppers to correct the different angle on the ears umi sells a great swap kit for this

No on the air shocks.........What backspacing does the stock rally's have? YOu can put 'em on and if you don't like the looks of it you can worry about it then...Just preference.

i think they r 4.5 i might i have to get shorter tires by the looks of it. u think i can run C5 wheels?

ok did more homework on this swap, and i cant fit C5 wheels but i can fit 80s corvette wheels like khan said in the rear. my question is what should i run in the front. i dont see how it would look right when im running wheels with 6in backspacing in the rear and 4.5 (stock size) in the front. plz any info would be great. By the looks of it i shouldve just got a Gbody 8.5

if you get 16" alloy wheels off a GTA Trans Am or IROC-Z Camaro (80s)
they have staggered backspacing
Front: 4.75"
Rear: 5.25"

the fronts should work with that spacing, they might rub on the sway bar a little at full turn. But the rears will work nicely with the 12bolt's extra width

here are my IROCs bolted on a stock Gbody 8.5 10bolt.

I'm running mine opposite from "front" & "rear" because the Gbody rear is shorter. But you should be able to run them properly with your 12bolt, no spacers or anything.

I think PontiacGP is using the 16" GTA versions with his Abody 8.2 rear.
They fit well with the extra housing width, they tuck inside the fenders. Looks pretty snazzy

well i gave up on the Abody rear since i found two 84 H/Os at a local tow companines yard. One was a hard top that came from the north (huge rust bucket) the other one was a T-top car from OK, good body but interior was trashed since he didnt have it covered. I got the rear from the rust bucket for 400 bucks which also had a limited slip in it!!! i tried so hard not to show how much i wanted the rear when i saw the tag on the rear.

thanks for the compliment, it is the 8.2 rear from a 67 chevelle so it's 2.5" wider. The wheels aren't the GTA wheels tho, they are 16 x 8 with a 4.5" BS
