BUILD THREAD 81 Buick/Olds Turbo Wagon 02/15/2024 More Parts!

Thanks Jack, I'll snap some pictures of the mirrors on the car in a bit, it'll be dirty, but everyone can see the pictures.

After looking at the car, apparently the aluminum front bumper mounts aren't thick enough! Ughhh, I bought them premade, and shortened them, but the frame and bumper plates have bent and the bumper is now sagging, I guess our wonderful Pennsylvania roads and the stiff suspension didn't help.

Looks like I have to make a stronger set.

I have the mirrors mounted, they look great!

I also had a small problem with the a/c, the high side was way high and hitting the cutoff pressure. Everything is brand new, nothing should have been clogged.

So I pulled the car in the shop and evacuated the system, I went to inspect the adjustable orifice tube, and sure enough, it came apart, and was stuck, I was livid, I couldn't get the damn thing out.

So, I used a long *ss Tapcon screw and managed to get it out. I replaced it with a red Ford orifice tube. I'll vacuum and recharge the system next week.

I also received my dual interpid fans, I'll mount those next week also.

Jim,
I started out with an adjustable orifice tube but for some reason it was incompatible. I went back to using a standard orifice tube. The adjustable tube was like $20.00 compared with $3-$4.00.

Jack, this is the second time the adjustable failed me, on two different cars, never again.

Jim,
The mirrors look like they were made for your car....good choice.
These were power mirrors if I recall?

Jack, thank you. That is correct. They are power mirrors.

Are the mirrors mounted in the stock location or are they moved forward?

They do look awesome!
