BUILD THREAD 81 Buick/Olds Turbo Wagon 02/15/2024 More Parts!

I was measuring some -10 fittings, and they are not 5/8 id all the way through. So, I am using a -10 pushlock hose that came with the kit, and opening up the nipples to to little over 1/2". I'll use fuel injection band clamps if I can locate them in work.

This is a drain, no pressure, so I think the one bump should be sufficient to hold the hose.

As far as the trans, I have 400 or so for the converter, so I may be closer to 2500. But I have all the labor, and the converter is not a fancy multi disk 9" billet unit. I see the cost is the labor in setting up the clearances, and multiple time putting it together and taking it apart.

It looks pretty solid. ...and still is full fendered.
What's it powered by, a flathead?

Dude, I am constantly drilling out and porting fittings and passages. So yeah, have at it. The last place you want a restriction is right at the point of entry. The drain hose won't be an issue as lots of OEM use a single bump fitting into a clamped hose... my Turbo Dodge did.

Ironically I used part of that Dodge drain fitting to build the janky *ss fitting I needed to mate it to the Holley 302-3 pan.

Mike, I thought the same. I'll get them ported out and installed. I do the same for most of my fittings also, like you.

Dad sounds like an old school hot rodder. As a young lad reading early issues of Rod & Custom, Car Craft, Hot Rod, etc. I always wanted a '32 Ford coupe. That was my dream car.

I love the deuce, great cruiser, and old enough to not worry about paint and chips.

So the wagon transmission seems like a success. I put some miles in it. It shifts hard and fast. I have double checked the pressures yet though.

Also fixed the air, replaced the turbo oil drain, and fixed the meth injection. The solenoid was bad.

We had a family day on base, and a car show. Got the wagon out to it.
