BUILD THREAD 81 Buick/Olds Turbo Wagon 02/15/2024 More Parts!

Yup, there's 4 pieces... And they're different of course!
I swapped header panels to the '78 like yours. Mine even came off the same color car! I don't care for the 4-lite version it had originally...

Jack, are we talking about the Class II hitch? I can get it on the ground and snap a few pictures no problem. I think a little travel trailer and like as you are thinking about would be fine. I have towed things on a bumper ball way heavier. lol, not the best idea, but what are you gonna do when you are in a bind?

Yes Jim, it's the class II hitch that you mentioned about. Sure, if you can snap a pic or two without any trouble, I'd appreciate it.
I have also towed a light car using a tow dolly with my crummy bumper hitch. It was only local, so that was no problem.

I have a Class III with 2" receiver under my wagon, if you need dimensions. Looks like it would be pretty simple to replicate. I bought it new in 1987! Blasted and powdercoated it in 2012, once a I found another wagon to hang it from...

Jack, will do. I take the pics this weekend. I have a bunch going on so don't hold me to it, lol.

We could use your pics and dimensions and mine and Jack should be good to go.

No problem, Jim. There's no hurry.

Thanks Quinn and Jim. That would be great. My other concern is, being able to find the materials locally....and being able to have them cut to size.

That my friend is some great info. Thanks for going through the effort and posting it.

Sorry for the delay guys, my account was messed up from the Hotmail issues. I have been busy prepping to build a deck this weekend, happy wife happy life, haha.

I Will dig out the hitch for you Jack, and those bumper fillers for you Blake.

As gas as an update, I did get a little done. The passenger fender has the filler work done and in epoxy now. Just need a few coats of kickstand and final blocking on the car.

The driver's side fender has been blasted, and started to do the filler work. This fender was a replacement fender, there was no primer on it, just color over that black edp stuff. No wonder there was rust coming through everywhere, improper prep.

The tailgate has been repaired in the hinge area, a small rot hole fixed, and the backside in epoxy and the seam sealer done.

Finally, I bought some aluminum flat stock, and TIG welded some ears on it, and mounted my trans cooler. I didn't want to run those straps through the a.c. condenser.

I don't have a lot of pics, I was in the groove last weekend and just kept trucking.

The past week or so has been mayhem around my house, as it has been the whole year. ughh. I built my deck out back, what a fiasco that was with the lumber supplier. I ended up having to pick the sh*t up myself on my car trailer since they dropped the ball and didn't have the order in on time to get it on the delivery truck, which turned out to be broke down anyway.

Then, on Monday morning, my sons car, a 75K mile 98 Buick regal, had a rod bearing go. So, I have my sons regal needs and engine, my daughter 03 Monte SS needs head gaskets, the wife is hounding me to put the pool back up, I have to finish the deck stairs, WTF! The wagon is getting pushed off week by week for getting to paint. I should have had it there by now.

I will dig out those bumper fillers Blake, it is hot and humid here today and I may not get sh*t done. The weekend, Friday to Sunday, was a blur of 16 hour work days on the deck. In rain and everything. So I am whooped, it is a perfect time to dig around for those things.

Jim,
Sorry to see that you're overwhelmed with sh*t to do. I guess when it rains, it pours.
I hope things come together for you, and that you're able to get your own stuff done. :wax:
