BUILD THREAD 81 Buick/Olds Turbo Wagon 02/15/2024 More Parts!

Jim,
Sorry to see that you're overwhelmed with sh*t to do. I guess when it rains, it pours.
I hope things come together for you, and that you're able to get your own stuff done. :wax:

Thanks Jack, it has just been one of those years I swear.😡

Sounds like fun, Jim!
I'm in no rush for the fillers, so whenever you find the time...

Blake, I will dig them out tonight for sure. They should be in my little fiberglass u-haul trailer, I think,

Hate to be the bearer of bad news...
The section of the yard with all the Olds and Buick wagons was so over-grown that I couldn't get back there, so no moldings...
Weeds were chest high, and they were the prickly kind. I guess our wet spring gave them a head start on me.
I usually pop back out there in the fall after the first frost, so I should be able to get back in there then if you still need them.
Otherwise I hope you're able to find some, and I'll keep my eyes peeled for you...

Blake, I don't think I will find any, so keep me in mind for when you can get in there. I would trench through that sh*t either. I have been having nothing but a string of bad luck with the family vehicles, so I wont be getting any serious progress done on it for at least the next two weeks. Paint is getting pushed further back, looking like beginning of august now.

Sounds like a winter expedition when the vegetation has all died off. That sucks!
So it's the front Oldsmobile wheel well mouldings that you need. Are all years and models compatible? Just in case I run into a set.

Jack, He's looking for the rear wheel well moldings for an Olds/Buick wagon.
Should be the same from '78-'83.

Jim, that sucks about the family fleet... but its gotta be done!
I always head out to Rohner's twice a year, spring and fall.
Well this is at least a month later than I usually go, so that's what I get for dragging my feet...
Late september or early october is probably when I'll make my next journey.
I'll keep your moldings on my list.

.
Blake,
Had I read the details of the thread...😕...d'oh! So it's the rears...gotcha. I haven't seen a G-body wagon at the yard in quite some time. I will keep my eyes and ears open.

Thanks guys! Busy week and weekend for me. I replaced the engine in my oldest daughters 03 Monte SS. She overheated it so bad the heads and block were cracked. So in went a 51K mile engine. New intake gaskets, radiator, water pump and t-stat of course. (3800 series II engine). I managed to get the pool back up after building my deck. I have to replace the engine in the venture and put bearings in my sons car (3800 series II w/70K).

The venture needs intake and possibly head gaskets again, these damn women in my family just keep driving the damn things when they over heat. Not that they overhead all the time, but you know what I mean. No offense to the women on here, but these girls are killing me. :rant:The van has the 3400 (3.4) and I have replaced head gaskets at 130K, from the wife driving it overheated. (bad intake gaskets). Then, I suspect the intake gaskets again. The thing is, it takes 16 hours to replace the head gaskets with the engine in the van. I have done it once, and I am not doing it again on an engine the consumes 3qts of oil every 3K, no oil leaks (I fixed them all). Sooooo, another love mileage (65-70K) engine will go in it.

So, I haven't done sh*t on the wagon, paint just keeps getting pushed. 😡

Nothing new to report. The weekend I pulled the 3800 S2 out of my sons car, and then pulled the 3400 out of the venture (trans, engine, and subframe from the bottom). I have to pick up the replacement engine for the van today, I have parts on order for it, and now I have a MUST do project for work due COB on Friday, looks like 12 hr days today, tomorrow and Thursday.

Hey Jim,
Sounds like the family has been driving your wheels off...geez! I hope you can catch a break soon..
