81 el camino stalls when hot

I was told about that trick from an old engine builder and a few guys I know have done it to old carbs they picked up in a scrap yard to use in circle track on the v8's division, real low budget racing

What should be done after it soaks, just let it dry and throw it back on or hit it with carb cleaner

turn the throttle a few times to clean out any diesel fuel in the bowl, wipe it off and put it back on the car. You can spray it down with carb cleaner if you want. The diesel fuel will not harm the engine. After you get it started you can pour a little transmission fluid down the carb, that will clean the carbon on the top part of the engine. Do that in a area where there is no homes around the transmission fluid will give you lots of white smoke. Get the oldest type of transmission fluid you can find. You can also use water down the carb which will also clean the carbon but not as good as the transmission fluid. The water will not give out too much smoke so you can do that any place. Let us know how it works out

just an update in case anyone else has a similar problem
I know it's been a while since I posted this, but the diesel fuel trick didn't work out too well for me. I soaked it for 2 days in the diesel. The fuel was blue when I put the carb in it, and brown after taking it back out. It definitely loosened all of the crap in the carb, I used 5 cans of carb cleaner blasting out as much as I could. Nasty is not a powerful enough word to describe the stuff that came out of it, so I figured that was it.
After I put the carb back on, the car was very hard to start and didn't want to idle without me feathering the gas, even after the bowl was filled with gas. A friend of mine said I probably ruined the electrical parts by soaking them in the diesel fuel.
I'm going to send it out for a rebuild unless I can find another working computer controlled dualjet, or a pre-computer carb and distributor. If anyone has the parts I need, I would be interested in possibly buying them. Its an 81 with the 229 chevy and a 3 speed.
