Great work and you are moving right along on this project. Kudos! Consider a four barrel Q-jet and lightweight aluminum intake will give you both better mileage and more power and can come with a nice electric choke for the winter.

Thanks for the compliments!!

I have a T/A intake coming on Wednesday this week. THey had been on backorder for 8 weeks, so bitter sweet, it allowed me to do other things with the car that needed done. I also have a Q-Jet that has been modified and hopped up by Ken at Everyday Performance. He built it to my specs with an electric choke. There is also a Comp Cam 268 master kit installed along with a high volume oil pump hand ported with a new timing cover built by T/A as well.

I look forward to hearing her start for the first time!!

Everybody who has ever built a motor geeks to hear her start the first time. 8) I read on the other thread that you are looking for headers. Have you posted a wanted add on V8Buick.com? Headers are a proven upgrade for both power and mileage but lots of people avoid them on a daily driver because of bad experiences with gaskets burning out, warp-age, and rust. I say get a good gasket even if it came with a cheap gasket. Its way worth it. http://catalog.remflex.com/category_s/154.htm Also take the time to clean and paint the headers with several light coats of good header paint allowing adequate cure time between at least the first and second coats. Usually 12+ hours. Its does not fully cure until its been heat cycled by running the engine. Also if you are doing your break in on a stand you might use the manifolds for that to avoid excessive long heat on the cure to avoid discoloring etc. I've seen people have their timing off and glow their headers on break in.

Have you got a 3.08 gear for this car? Do you plan to eventually upgrade from the whitewall tires? If so check out http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp ... &tab=Specs

Yea, Headers are just not available for this car...yet. I have spoken to EVERYONE about the issue and nada. It's ok because I plan on driving it sometimes to work in Sharonville. I'll more than likely do what you recommend and keep the exhaust manifolds.

I have to check on the rear end gear size, I beleive there is a 2.93 in there as this is what the factory manual says. I am in the car business thank goodness, for Keystone/LKQ corporation so I can get the hook up on tires and wheels. I also am good friends with the VP of Tire Discounters as well. Definately going to change out the white walls.
More than likely going to do a classic look in a larger whelel size.

I see you are from Dayton.

I have a bunch of pics that I just loaded in my profile. These were all before I tore into it. I'll have more pics of the engine as I get it placed into the car.

Exhaust will be a custom built 2.5" true dual with Dynomax Super Turbo (large case) and I have pics of the G Force cross member on this post as well. I hope the 268 Comp Cam/mufflers gives it a little gurggle.

Since you're going with a Quadrajet, do you want to part with the stock 2-Jet? I could use it...
