'83 Cutlass Cruiser Build Thread

Been debating adding the vinyl woodgrain trim around the car once it's painted. Should I do it?

  • No, leave that wagon smooth and simple.

I like light green too, but if I go too light on the color, it won't look right with the dark brown interior...
Trust me, I thought about it!

ya, theres not many colors that go with brown... except gold of course. 8)

Those 3:23's of yours are going to be a good addition to the wagon Matt!
Along with the posi-carrier I snagged out of a friend of a friends MCSS, I should be good to go...

Oh, good point. I''m lucky my car is triple green, because it would look disgusting with any other color interior.

Well, I ended the poll.
I decided that I'm definately putting the woodgrain on once it's painted, so I don't care what you guys think anymore!

The wagon has been running well all week, and with our nice cold-spell we've been having, the working heater is awesome compared to the Caprice's barely functioning heater...

I hope to finally get the wheel alignment taken care of soon as well as install the rear sway bar I have for it.
Unfortunately, the weather hasn't started cooperating yet...

Well, I noticed the other day that the turn signals on the wagon were getting slower and slower.
Since we're back into a cold snap and I didn't have the time to dick around with it, I decided to just go get the Caprice.
I pulled the Caprice out of the storage spot, and the wagon wouldn't start...
Switched in the battery from the Caprice and pulled the wagon inside, but either the alternator or my 9 year old battery gave up the ghost...

I'd like to pull the front suspension apart to rebuild everything, but I can't undertake any projects of that size until I get the motor swap taken care of in the Buick wagon, so it can go to it's new owner...

Even though the increased burden of multiple vehicles can be stressful, I still encourage everybody to own at least 3 G-bodies at any given time.

Thats a great line! Ill have to remember that for the future.

I got the battery checked, and after 9 years it's still going strong.
Replaced the alternator and after about 20 seconds it started screaming and the pulley got really hot.
Took it back and got another one and it's good to go now.
I even treated the car to a new belt, since the old one was missing several chunks.

I'm thinking next friday I'll make a run to the junkyard and see what follows me home...

Ive got the day off on Friday but I dont know what random bolts and brakets im missing for my car untill I get it painted and put together. Otherwise I'd go.

You should go into the Pontiac section when you get there too just to look around. 😀
