100k mile cars, well not sure what you've seen, you are fortunate....the ones I've seen, the interiors and every aspect of the car look like 100k mile cars. Especially their paint and interiors.
Shoot me your address, i'll send you a CD with all the pictures '88... thanks

Why would someone do a rebody/frame off on a 30k mile car? That's what baffels me, not trying to rag on you but something is odd about this car.
A higher mile Hurst can have a nice interior and driveline since these were specialty cars usually owned by older people.
I've seen 104k mile cars that have mint interiors and drivelines but te paint is checked and faded.
Sounds like this car was wrecked or had bad rot...
Did you find out the production info from the H/O club or Al Manti to verify the VIN and find out the sequence number?
I've seen 11k mile or thereabouts Hursts go for around $14k quite a few times and that was back when the market was good in 2006/7...

Start a thread with the progress of the car, would really like to see before and after photos.[/quote]

My brother bought this for 16.5 (9k miles) as virgin as they get, sold it for 16k a few years later, car was too nice to restore, but not perfect enough for us...minor paint work, but all paintwork masked above or below the stripes. Very nice, paint, terrible, which is typical of all these cars. Definitely art, great designing by Hurst!

My 86 442 has less than 20000 miles . With bad factory paint .If you r going to yank doors and front clip to paint may as well go further do body mounts and like . I love the car and only easy way to clean all rustproofing and the silicon goop they put on at dealer is the body off . Its just starting to leak fluids . pull motor . As bad as paint is no one will give good $ anyway later on . Its my baby and will look better than new and be ready for next 30 years

I did a body off on a 69 pace Camaro convertible years ago 800 miles . it sat it looked it looked ok but had all the seam rust , dried seals . .

Any way being from rust belt nothing surprises me.

Agree MR442. If you know the 80's you know how these cars were made. They all leaked too.

Rebuld perfect and spotless... after paint, 8 hours of cleaning. Clean again, but not like when it was put in... 95% though.
