S.E. Detroit Area
Been working on the 84 all winter and have it all detailed now from firewall forward. Car was Ziebarted early in life and it was a joy getting all that off the frame and surrounding areas to prep for paint.

kinda sucks after all that work on the frame that ya can't even see it
hardly from up top - but I know it's done ....

couple pics of the work in process and after firing up tonight again .

UPDATE : 8/17/11 ran last weekend at DMR race at Norwalk - off the trailer in 92* temps
ran 12.54 - there's still more in it for sure with some tuning .

see other listing on ROP - http://72.22.90.30/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=679686#679686

wow nice! I'm liking that. why are you selling it though. To do all that work and sell just doesn't make any sense :|

I got this one to play with and to fiddle with instead of risking my 69 on the street as much.
gave me something to do over the winter in detailing it thus far .

I'm in no hurry to sell but won't shed any tears if a buyer comes up with the cabbage....
My 69 is the keeper .....

$ 7500 as sits

Fresh Paint last summer
455 w/ built 200R4
fresh ceramic coated hooker 2" tube headers
alum hood
new Alum 3 core Radiator
8.5 rear 3.73 gear
complete Dick Miller rear suspension ( $ 850 ) alone there
rallye dash gauges / tach

Looks great... Too bad there's no heater...

previous owner was turning it into a street / strip ride trying to get it into the 11's
started taking off anything not needed to go straight to lighten it up .

I think I got all the stuff to put it back together but this thing will never see winter or cold weather
while in my possession - but can't say same for going fast.........

Heater - I don't need no stinkin heater....... 😀 😀

maybe you don't but having a heater would help to sell the car

Exactly.
I can't count how many potential G-body purchases I've walked away from because they ripped out the heater box.

As for the car seeing cold weather/winter, you may want to rethink that.
I'm just as far north as you are, and even on summer nights the temps can drop significantly. sh*t, it's 53* here right now.
I personally don't enjoy shivering my balls off on the way home...

Re: it lives again

No fan of no heat / AC either and that never helps when selling a car but its still a very cool and nice clean car. Its rather understated with the wheels/tires, color, and lack of stripes etc. This is part of its charm but it also has a lot of people pass it by when they should have taken a closer look. I sold my 442 for my $7k asking price immediately after I gave my first looker his holy sh*t ride. I love people who have been into cars but have never actually ridden in a fast or at least powerfull street car.

A timeslip with mph if traction is bad can also help as it makes it bonified at least if it does in fact run hard. Anything 12.99 or better or with say 104+ mph. Although in an add you have to stress that its not been a racer just timed to know where she is at and that its reliable. People want to know they are not getting someone elses worn out problemchild. If the lockup converter is working and you don't have too much cam or carberation problems you can take a little stroll down the highway to see what kind of mpg you can get. Just to say if they ask what the highway mpg is and that its not bad with the overdrive especially not for a powerful car. Enjoy it and good luck on your sale.

PS The blue block & ceramic headers really look nice as does the electric fans & aluminum radiator. I also really like taking off the oil fill tube it gives it a clean & simple look. In fact the clean aluminum look of the intake, water pump, valve covers and altenator with the contrast of the gloss black A arms, brackets & pulleys make a great clean looking engine bay. 8)

Re: it lives again

hopefully it will end up going to a good home, but if not at least youll be stuck with one beautiful cutlass. Nice work, it looks really good especially under the hood
