No fan of no heat / AC either and that never helps when selling a car but its still a very cool and nice clean car. Its rather understated with the wheels/tires, color, and lack of stripes etc. which can be part of its charm but also has a lot of people pass it by when they should have taken a closer look. I sold my 442 for my $7k asking price immediately after I gave my first looker his holy sh*t ride. I love people who have been into cars but have never actually ridden in a fast or at least powerfull street car.

A timeslip with mph if traction is bad can also help as it makes it bonified at least if its does in fact run hard. Anything 12.99 or better or with say 104+ mph. Although in an add you have to stress that its not been a racer just timed to know where she is at and that its reliable. People want to know they are not getting anybodys worn out problemchild. If the lockup converter is working and you don't have too much cam or carberation problems you can take a little stroll down the highway to see what kind of mpg you can get. Just to say if they ask what the hwy mpg is and that its not bad with the overdrive especially not for a powerful car. Enjoy it and good luck on your sale.

PS The blue block & ceramic headers really look nice as does the electric fans & aluminum radiator. I also really like taking off the oil fill tube it gives it a clean & simple look.

thks for the compliments - The longer I have it the more stuff will get upgraded - I bought it to have something to
mess with until I can sell it - the object was to not sink a bunch of $$ into it that would not be recovered - I'm just about there now- fair price for what it is - can't build one with what this has on /in it for what I'm asking for it - so I'll just hang onto it until it sells . My 69 runs mid 11's and this one feels like certainly low 12s' easy by comparison. OD works just fine so it's got the best of both - fast and MPG. Pinstripping might be next thing to happen cause I agree- needs a little something more externally to enhance the look a little .

regarding the manual steering - it's not too bad - takes a little effort but nothing that is uncomfortable to drive. It's too quick to be a girly car anyway ..

Re: it lives again

when there is that much power it's nice to have power steering so you can react quick enough when the car gets out of shape and to be able to correct any over reaction. I like the manual brakes though so you can modulate the brakes better than you can with power brakes

I swapped the steering arm between the column and the gear box with one from a Jeep Cherokee -
amazing difference in response and ease vs. the stock arm with rag joint. Guess depends on preference.

I remove the PS belt on my 69 when racing cause I don't like the way it feels on top end
with PS . Seems too loose - feels like more control w/o it at speed.

Re: it lives again

nothing to do with preference...every race car at our track has power steering and it's safer to run and the hp a pump robs is easily made up with the help the power steering gives the driver. Power steering boxes with the belt removed don't work the same as a non power steering box.

to each his own my friend -

Clean car Rob! If you don't mind me asking, who did you have do the work for your trans? I'm looking for an OD trans for my 455. Do you know what kind of mpg you get with your setup now? Thanks!

What kind of work is done to the 455? Do you have a halo on it? I'll pass this thread onto my buddy that's been looking for a Cutlass

Bob,

wish I could give ya more specifics - the trans was done by previous owner who did trannies for a living - unfortunately
he is deceased - which is how I came to own the car. - The motor is basic +.030 455 Trw pistons - / heat risers filled in heads - very mild port work as I didn't pull the heads when working on it over the winter - I port matched the intake
Has Engle cam - but not cnfrmed which - I suspect it's the JM 22-25 but might be slightly bigger. Comp roller tip
rockers - I highly doubt it has a halo girdle - those are needed until you start reaching 600+ HP . I've been running
my 69 for 20+ years w/o one .

As far as MPG - again sorry can't really say cause I really haven't had a chance to drive it any distance since buying it
OD works fine - I can attest it gets WAY better than my 69 does - Bottom line - MPG direct relation to right foot positioning. If I had the room - selling it wouldn't even be a consideration ... but I don't so - like to see it go to
a good home - been fun playing with it and detailing it since buying - but the longer I keep it now the more $ I'm gonna
keep putting in it that really isn't needed but being a car guy - who can leave em alone ...

if your buddy wants to contact me - cell # 734 748 - zero seven one zero

Rgds

I have the Engle JM 22-25H to install, for my 330.....how do you like the cam? I realize you aren't for sure about it being the 22-25, but was curious.
