So the 229 in my 84 Monte seized up the other day.I got a 73 El Camino with a strong running 350.I have alot of tools and have swapped trannies and done basic mechanic work before.Problem is I no longer have a garage and would be working on the street. How hard would it be to transplant the 350 into the 84,retaining the stock th200.

Putting a small block in a Monte Carlo is easy bro. I'd go with post number two as well. If you can grab up a th350 for cheap I would. I've taken out just a handful of small blocks over the years and I can get one out in no time. Main thing is don't get discouraged because it can be stressful at times. Try real hard not to break and sensors and what not especially if the 350 uses the same sensors.

Ok change of plans i got a 85 caprice with a smooth running 305 for basically nothing.I want to swap in the 305 plus the ccc system...any tips?
