My x-pipe is now welded up and complete. I'm currently working on exhaust hangars. So close!

In other news, I picked up a set of 15x7 Olds Rallyes with inserts and some beat up trim rings yesterday. As soon as I get the tires off of them, I will begin blasting and powdercoating. Powder primer, paint, and clear are all on order.

Nice build and by the look of the interior and exterior, a good deal. The Olds 307 is a very reliable motor and that 350 carb will be perfect on a 307 with headers and dual exhaust.

Been pretty busy with various things. I cut up my EGR valve and welded/ground/painted it so I wouldn't have to buy a block-off.

Mounted it to the manifold as well as my choke plate that received the same treatment, and set the carb on top.

Its starting to come together!

On to some suspension. I'm really, really impressed with electrolysis for rust removal. Washing soda is an excellent degreaser. My parts come out of the bath squeeky clean, all I do is hit them with the pressure washer before sand blasting.

Standard greasy and rusty suspension components. Nothing we haven't all seen before. 😀

No post-blasting picture, but it looked like.. well, blasted steel. 😀 Here is the partially cured primer coat, its a zinc rich primer used for steel parts that will see weather.

I purchased a set of Southside Machine stage 2 upper arms with tall upper and lower ball joints. These of course come powdercoated as well, not quite as glossy as what I used on my lowers.

And I found a set of SSIII 15x7 Oldsmobile Rallyes for a killer deal clear up in Everett, which is about an hour and a half drive. He took me to a storage facility which was on farm property. All of the old chicken coops were converted into storage. It was basically a warehouse turned into a museum. The entire thing was lined from front to back with 60's and 70's Chevy and BOP vehicles, engines, and various parts. I wanted to stay there forever. 😀 The wheels were mounted to a late 60's Cutlass. We pulled them together and I was on my way.

I've started blasting them, but I may pay someone else to do it with better equipment. Its a lot of work for my little cabinet. Trim rings are shot, inserts look pretty good. I'm going to go with the tried and true 255/60 in the rear, 235/60 in the front.

Thanks! I picked up a set of Moog 5658's I believe they are. I've had them for over a year, I'd planned to put them under my Grand Prix... the Cutlass is going to get the pile of parts now. I ordered a set of Bilstein AK1051 shocks this morning as well.

I'm not sure I really care for this black topcoat, I usually shoot a different type however I got the Ink Black for free with my last purchase. It seems to want to "picture frame", or pull away from sharp edges as it cures.

Ha, as those members following my wheel/tire selection and build threads will probably "painfully" attest to . . .

I like to think of "a plan" as a "work in progress" or "fluid" document. Actually, it is just, the more I learn, the more I realize the better way to do things, so there is certainly nothing wrong with that. Looks like you are making WAY more progress than I am . . . but things are warming up in more ways than one . . .

I knew I couldn't be the only one. 😀 All of these plans and ideas for a project... then I find myself deep in another project, but I bring some of those ideas and accumulated parts with me. I'm hopeless, the wife agrees.
