great potential..........i have two 85 salons, been keepin my eye on salons for years. only seen a few with t tops and vinyl roof. kinda weird combo ? as to the rarity only 1,437 1985 salons made for canada, so i imagine a similar amont for USA. thats more rare than the 442's. canadian production stats also list only 298 t- top cars made that year for canada. so your cars definately a keeper.

by the way, taillights are wrong, 84 and 85 had the same taillights, 86 to 88 the same.........yours are 83 and earlier

also your headlight bezel should be blacked out

if ya wanna see my GM canada documentation and pics of my salon here ya go ............

Sweet ride Dude!....Gotta get me a set of those wheels soon. My 85 Salon has the rare factory moon roof which leaks a bit and I wish it was a T-top instead, but oh well. Not sure why they put such a puny engine/drivetrain in the salons...I assume it was for the non speed demon crowd...lol. Mine will be much better with the 350SBO and the 2004r. Just need a better gear in the rear. 2:41 pegleg is lame for that much torque.

pulled most of the bird nest out, washed it. it was 5 quarts low on atf. the water pump and power steering pump are fine, i think anyway. the squealing is coming from the alt whenever its starts charging. let the motor warm up for the first time and it started to smooth out, then started missing again. the tank was empty and i only put 2.*** gallons in it so it may just be getting bad gas. I bought plugs this morning so itll get them anyway.

might make a trip to pullapart for a tail light and filler panel, alt and center cap and whatever else i see while im there.

it looks damn nice to me! a little wash, a little wax, some simple green here and there and voila! you'll have a showroom condition car!

what exactly does the f41 suspension include

I beleive all that it includes is the 1.25inch sway bar up front, rear sway bar, front supports from center of crossmember out to the frame rails, some people call em jounce bars? I think the rotors and calipers are all the same and the steering is a bit tighter on the f41. Also, depending on engine size, the coil springs all around are beefier....hope this helps

It may not seem like much, but those components make a big diff...I have driven standard cutlass' without the F41 and when I got in mine, the ride and steering was much better, lot less roll and quicker steering response.

If you take your 81-83 taillights out, I would be interested in them, if they aren't broke out anywhere. Wouldn't mind a spare set. I prefer them. Mine on my 87 Salon had been switched to them before I bought it. I also have a pretty good 84-88 taillight I would throw in on the transaction. Let me know if you want to talk about it. Beautiful Salon, again.
