Thought I would start a build thread on our 85SS. It was my Father in laws car before he passed a few months back and I want to make sure and do him proud on it..Starting out it's a pretty clean SS with a 355 in it..I have a book with all the spec's and parts in the motor that I have not had a chance to read up on yet..Plans right now are to have body and paint done (couple spots starting to show). Dropping it off tomorrow to my paint guy , then 2" drop front and rear then adding some 17 or 18" wheels..sort of undecided as of yet. New window tint, replace driver bucket seat cover if I can buy just one..if not both front seats, a good stereo system. Performance wise the motor runs pretty stong, but think it will need some minor work. Runs strong but I think it needs a gear..we will see...That's were we are starting..look forward to everyone's input as this will be the first car I have done since I was in my 20's (50 now) been working on trucks since..Here is a pic I took a couple weeks ago when I pulled it out of the garage for the 1st time in months..

Well got the car back from the paint and body..looks great..I had SS stripes added in pearl and the Monte SS on doors and trunk lid all done in pearl ghosted in. Also added a cowl induction hood. Looks smooth the way we like it. Also I removed the window tint and had it redone..no more purple windows..installed a new stereo, steering wheel this past weekend as well..not to get to the drop I have to figure out what I can do about tires..I am running 255/60/15 on all four corners..I like the look of the rears but gotta do something in the front..well here are a couple pics. Oh and before anyone says something they are not pink stripes..actually more grey..Bright sunshine does different things to the color..
