You are doing a killer job

Thanks Dave!!! The fellas shot thru and helped Saint pull the 2004r out the El. Cool *ss day!!!! 😀 We had 3 different car clubs chillin and puttin in work to get the trans out and help get Tuck back on the road. I chilled and let Saint do the work as he was getting a free ($1300 rebuilt) trans, fresh wheel wells and a nice steering gear box. Good times most def! When Saints th350 gave up the ghost, I knew I had to step in. I have a built 700r (brand new) and TC sitting here so I shot the word out to him. Finally got around to drilling the last 2 holes out on the backing plate. The homie Allen (MR HoodWrench) shot thru and we worked on it and the 7.5 (my old rear from my SS project) for his malibu. Knocked both out right quick. The Grand National rear is now painted and Ive stripped the rear girdle of its bolts and prepped it for the powdercoater...

Fabbed some brackets up for the shock relocate... 1 set for the 7.5 and the other for the 8.5

Cut the angle iron for the e-brake brackets im fabbing up...Pretty sure theres a better way to get the ebrake to function on the LS1 swap, but imma try this out. If anything, I got a chance to learn how to use a few new tools...

Angle iron was a lil thick for the stock ebrake clips tangs to push thru. I tried to remedy this by milling out a little under a half the thickness of the angle iron.. Cool cuz I got a chance to use the tools to do it...

Finished.. A good look and worked like a charm on test fit....

Mounted....I used fine thread grade 8 bolts, washer, lock washer and nyloc nuts. A little medium strength thread lock to make sure things stay seated...Im also rubed a lil red lube on the flange just incase moisture somehow gets in there.

With the rear end done, 2004r out, fatmat laid, shifter done ect...Im pretty much just letting the elco sit til I get the moonroof installed and then paint. Imma have my trans shop do the 700r4 install as they will need to do all the electrical work needed for the tc to do its thing (brake light kit or whatever). I still need new glass, weather stripping ect but that will come later. Goal is to have her ready for the Vegas Elco Run in October

Thanks bruh!!! Really appreciate that! This keeps me motivated to try harder and keep pushing on the mods. Thanks again!!!

Go a lil work done on the old girl today. Scuffed and cleaned the rear calipers and PAB setup. I like to mock it all up after a quick coat of paint to see if Im gonna like thecolor setup before moving forward. If I likes, I'll scuff and apply a few more fresh coats. Did that and have been waiting for it to cure/dry. I taped off the rear axle tubes on the 8.5 Grand nat rear for protection during the install....

I used all "the good stuff" on the install...Nyloc nuts, fine thread 10.9 bolts, washer, lock washer and some loc tite...The grade 10.9 bolts are a tad longer so theres enough thread to bite onto after i added the home made e-brake brackets

Swapped in the KORE3 BRAIDED LINE KIT. I just gotta cut the stock gm lines and re flare em...

Freezing my ballz off but I should have the rear buttoned up tonight. I got the cleaned and ARP studded, 28 spline axles, "c" clips and pin installed. I greased the new wheel bearings and any surface and come in contact metal. Just waiting on the rear girdle to be powder coated and then I can install it and drop the rear in the elco. I wanna do this BEFORE taking it to my trans guy for the 700 drop in. Thats way he can do the driveshaft cut and balance there at his spot at the same time.

Thanks for checking back!!

what up warren..looking good as usual...question about the 700r4 install.. I also purchased a stage 3 700r4 for my regal. I just bought the speedo gears on friday and they should be here tomorrow. what actually has to be done with the TC lockup? my plan was mate the motor and transmission next weekend and drop it in. the transmission came with a 2600-2800 stall..what is your transmission guy having to do with the lockup b/c i'm sure i will have to address the same..thanks in advance.

On my setup I'm running a non lock up converter on my 700 with no issues regarding heat etc warren has been in my car at speeds up to 100 mph and seen how it performs....

Preciate' you checking back in bruh! For my og BM 700r I purchased a "brake light kit" from bowtieoverdrives. Takes the guesswork out of it. Worked just like the computer was still in the car. My next 700 was built by a shop and they did the same thing but with their own parts.. I want to add a manual switch so I can do my own thing when I want.

Cant remember which one I got tho..Purchased it 8 years ago for my first B&M 700r

I hope this helps bruh! And Daves setup is clean! We were doing 100 no probs!

Did a lil cutting and flaring on my 8.5's rear lines. The stock lines are clean. Just needed to be trimmed down cuz of my braided Kore 3 lines. Imma hit the lines with my wire wheel to clean all the old por-15 off, and then spray a lil cast aluminum on the lines..

I need to weld the brackets on and then I can finish the rear off and install it. I dropped the TA rear girdle off at the powder coaters, and will have that back on Monday. Looking good so far...

Weather should be decent tomorrow and i may do some much needed cleanup in the bay-els just been sitting. I also have to flip a couple wires around and a few other things. Josh came by last week and gave me a few tips on cleaning up my c fiber dipped wheel wells. If I cant get em right, Ill sand em down and start over...Got my work cut out for me with those...Thanks for checking back!

Motor is coming back out. The driveway has a slope to it and when we pulled the Performer off, water got down in the block. I cant remember if we pulled the lower hose before or after. But Imma pull the motor back out tilt the block and drain all the remaining water. I drained the oil pan, but I still want to pull it and remove the pan and let the motor sit out for a bit. Luckily Chris saw the water run down in the motor. Picked up newEdelbrock gaskets and everything needed for the new intake. With the motor out, I can address the lil things I wished I could have done before dropping the motor in. I see some better ways to run the wires and lil things like that. I can also clean the frame up.. Should be pulling it out this weekend if I can get the hoist back. Thanks for checking back..
