they are 2 different things. Posi unit is gonna hit you for 400-600 new or look on craigslist for one. you need posi to burn with 2 wheels and then the gears to launch. plus always make sure you drop the transmission to 1st gear for burnouts cse the RPMs will be higher and it will spin them for sure.

Get the gears also bruh. Peeps have em for sale all the time. Get the trans looked at as well. Its a combo of everything to me. Gotta make sure all parts are up to snuff. beef up one thing and not the other component and you are aking for trouble. I know that one from experience. LOL!

This is what happened when I dropped my built 700r4 in with a nice lil shift kit and didnt handle the rear end...

Man all these parts have just been sittin in storage bruh. ive been building and storing parts for 6 years now. Man o man..Do the suspension first bruh before wheels. LOL! Its crazy cuz I hated having rims and my suspension wasnt right. Thats why I took em off. I sold em cuz they were just sittin here taking up space. Man with all the clean stuff you got on the El, a nice set of stocks for now (while you work on your suspension) will look clean. For me I guess I hated squeelin and squalin while pushin those heavy *ss wheels on that old worn out suspension. Yours may not be as bad as mine is. Cant wait to see yours bruh..

Well everything is here now. New tail light lenses, rear springs, airbag kit, front springs, shocks,...The works. I still need to get a grease gun and grease. I'll see about getting this done on the weekend if I dont have the kids. Guess I can hit Harbor Freight up for the gun and Napa for the grease....

Ooh wee! I can't wait to see those LED's in action! How do you like that bag set-up? I know you have it on tha SS but I wasn't sure if you've driven it with them. Do they allow you to get rid of the air shocks? Keep up the hard work!

Sweet!! I think we are still coming down if ur not busy friday afternoon i'll swing by and check u out

Thanks fellas! I just need to get crackin on it. Once I start, it will snowball and it'll be done before I know it. I dont think you can replace the shocks with the bags. They just help out as a leveler and give you up to 1000lbs of extra load capacity. They worked out nice on the SS. I drove it home after the whole drop and rear end rebuild. Pretty smooth ride. Back that up with air shocks and the anti sag coil springs and I should never worry about the rear droppin on me.....Swing thru Mel. We can get it crackin on the "Rolla" lol..

Thanks for chimin in bruh! Now that I'm awake (LOL!) i can see that I read the question incorrectly. Well, Ive been lookin around and now Im getting the parts together to rebuild my Monte SS' old 7.5 rear for the Elco. My boy is dropping it off to me tomorrow. I'll tear it apart and start cleaning it up. Eaton posi and 373 gears and 28 spline axles (Moeser) Not sure If I'll tackle doin the rebuild myself. I have no idea on how to set gear lash and all. But tearing the old stuff out will be a great learning experience. I'll sand the rear and por-15 it or something. A new project!! LOL! I'll keep you guys updated...
