The 76 Monte Carlo looked identical to this one, except my dad's was stock. This is a photo I found searching for a match to the one my dad had. View attachment 67820

The Monte in that pic is a '70-'72. I can't tell which year without seeing the front end. They changed the parking lights every year from '70-'72.

The '87 Cutlass you bought looks like a good project. Should make a nice ride.

I will ask the exact year he had. I remember the big body style, but the paint and vinyl is right on.

I would put the 350 in the T-top car and the 403 in the other one but that's just me I'm my mind the G-bodys were all cool cars but they were born with Asma even a stock early 350 or 403 makes them nicer to drive
Thanks for the advice. I haven't put much thought into yet. I want to make a good decision. The 403 is gone, I sold it a year ago, when building the 350. I still have 2 307s, and a Dx 350 tho, and the 72 Olds I built.

That dx would make a good stroker with a 67 425 crank if I'm not mistaking you can bore them 1/4" without Sonic testing

I was told great things about that engine, which is why I jumped on it. Haven't got around to it yet, but I have plans for it. It was running strong when I pulled it. Oil, and temp pressure was perfect also. The guy had it in a 85 Delta 88.

It's a little hard to tell from the angle of the car , but I believe that's a 72. It could be either a 70, 71 or 72, but the larger egg crating on the grill indicates 72. At any rate, it's a first gen.

I'm going on based from my memory, but I'm sure it looks like the one pictured. I will try to finds old pics of it somewhere. Either way my dad had a couple cool cars back in the days. I remember the MC and the Cutlass because they stood out. The cutlass with the grille and the color scheme of his MC.

Another point is check the hood spear. '70 is thin, '71 has a round stand up ornament saying Chevrolet, '72 is wide with "MC" on the front. Kinda hard to see it in the pic.
