Is it pretty common to find a posi rearend from an Abody? I cant stand my dogleg 7.5".

Some came with posi and some didn't. The posi's are usually an Eaton which is good and a higher valued posi than the Auburn which with the clutch disks it's rebuildable. The Auburn uses side gears with a cone and it's not rebuildable. The only problem with the Easton is getting parts for it. The pinion thrust washers are known to wear out as they were originally brass. They changed the brass to another material which lasts longer. I changed the thrust washers in mine but had some difficulty in tracking them down. The Auburn however you can still order parts directly from the company.

well the a body rears are 73-77 you need to look for a cutlass those years as they have no c clips if really interestd pm me i can give full details on this swap

I believe both Buick and Oldsmobile A-bodies came equipped with an 8.5 ten bolt with bolt in axles in 71 and 72. I am not sure on the 73-77 as I believe them to be different in how the arms are angled. I am using one from a '72 to put under my 70 skylark. I do know that the upper arms are different on the 71-72 when going to a 78-87 g body and the 71-72 is a bit wider that the 78-87 g body but not by much. It can be compensated for with different offset wheels and custom arms.
