I have had mine shipped to me, not too bad, considering they are hard to find not all broken up.

I can't say that I've ever seen them busted up that severely..unless some yahoo took a hammer to it. But I don't think that's the case here. The plastic does become brittle over time....actually I think it's fiberglass.
You gotta catch someone removing a nice one in place of a delete plate. I can't understand why guys deliberately bust them up to remove them. I recall saying in an older thread that people are going to be looking for the original heater/ a/c boxes because they would like to regain the use of their heater, and or a/c unit.

I have over 10 of these things in my basement and would love to rid a few of them lol!

Yeah, it literally just fell apart... admittedly not quite as bad as when I took the picture. That was partially the result of a small amount of frustration paired with the subsequent stress relieve lol
 
Yeah, you gotta be gentle removing them. They do tend to stick over time. I could understand the frustration when removing them...but you got to be patient.
Were you able to find a replacement? Maybe get one of the ones that Toby is offering.
