Thank's Steve. A lot of work, but worth it. See your tach? I also re-zeroed it while everything was apart. One hell of a time getting it perfectly on zero for some reason.

I should have marked it somehow before I removed the pointer so it'd be easy to set up...

Oddly enough it looked as if the hole in the pointer was round and the stud in the tach was square?!?! Very strange.

A little too late now, but in answer to the original question that started this thread, here are some pics of a original 4 speed A/G body console. If you look close you can see how it is positioned so the factory 4 speed shifter comes up in front and to the side/corner.

Too bad about the lady causing you to mess up your trans, but it looks like your back in shape now.

Wow- a fourspeed car with full gauges and tach! Rare and nice. My kind of car-very cool.

😀 If only these cars were really worth something! That picture also shows intermittent wipers and passenger side remote mirror control. What is not shown is the power moon roof and dome light with individual map lights.

The only stick G body I'm aware of was the 81 Malibu, commonly known as the Iraqi Taxi. It had a 3 speed transmission and bench seats so the was no center console. It also had a 200 kph speedo which would be a nice item for the Canadian Malibu owners....

There were other G-Bodies built with a manual trans. El Camino/Caballero and Cutlass (only seen 1 of those so far) come to mind. The Mexican Monte SS also had a 4-speed available, and a Dana 40 rear as an option too.

Thanks guys..I wasn't aware of the sticks being available...I looked up that Mexican SS since the SS only came back to life in 84 I think and wikipedia didn't have it listed.

"the Mexican SS came with a 350ci Engine, a 4 speed Hurst Manual Transmission, 4 barrel Rochester Quadrajet carburetor, performance suspension, bucket seats, manual windows and power locks."

never saw anything like that up here....
