Hello,

Would like some kind of price range to start with. I have someone interested in my 1984 Hurst Old's 307 complete engine. I pulled this years ago out of a 55K car that was a little too rusty underneath for me. Its complete from pan to double snorkel air cleaner, ran perfectly. I have no clue on what to ask for it that would be fair to him or me. I was thinking $750? Any sincere suggestions and opinions would be appreciated and helpful. Thanks in advance!

Will

I would think about 1/2 that; it's just a flat tappet 307, but low mileage could account for a slight bump, I guess. I'm not into restorations, so I wouldn't even consider it. I'll just shut up now......

If it were mine (and it’s not!) I would start at $500 and take any cash offer over 1/2 of that. Like fleming442 alluded to, it’s good for a restoration and not much more.

It’s not good for a correct restoration as the vin derivative wouldn’t match. But as a replacement engine I would say it would. As far as the price the 500 sounds like a good starting price and maybe settle on 350 or more if it’s in great shape. I can’t see anyone clamoring for an HO engine being a 307 for anything else other than stock replacement. JMO

With the air cleaner I’d be starting around 600-650. Missed that part.

Pretty sad when an air cleaner is worth as much as a whole engine!
It was about the only thing special about the engine in those cars, which is really sad.
