What kind of gaskets do I need to get, list of vendors to buy from, to get this thing intalled the first try? I also got the valley pan off the 82 motor I pulled the intake off of just incase I needed it with it possibly being different than the one under my 73 iron intake.

I like the Mr Gasket Ultra Seals which you can get alot of places. Not hard to find. You can just use a standard steel turkey tray gasket too which you can get at any auto part store. I'm pretty sure they're all the same for all SBO's ( minus the puny port 260 and swirl port 307's ).

Cutlassefi or Mark Remmel on CO is a Mr Gasket vendor and knows Olds V8's very well. I personally like the turkey tray because it stays in place. I tried putting on a Performer intake on my stock 76 350 with Ultraseal gaskets. I could not even start the bolts. Edelbrock intakes supposedly have issues with warped flanges. I also used a set of SCE composite gaskets with a RPM intake. They slid down partially blocking the ports. I cut the bottom off the turkey tray to use as a splash shield. I would use RTV around the water ports on the head side and let it setup before installing the intake.

The A4 is virtually the same as the iron intake. There is a slightly different installation due to it being aluminum.
Look out for good clean and smooth water ports. I've seen some pitted in these areas and Its the first place it leaks at. Second is to use some kind of sealer on the intake bolts. Just at the tip of the threads. With out any sealer, oil will seep up the bolts and on your intake. I've only seen this happen on the aluminum intakes. I use a dab of locktite, but any sealer will do.
Always use a valley pan. The old one can be cut and installed just under the head edges away from the new gaskets ( felpro and mr gasket used to come with instructions on where to cut, but i guess they want you to buy their version.). If you use a new all steel pan gasket like the original, just use RTV to seal it and you'll be good. My 2 cents

So tell them its for a 73 Olds 350 and I'll be good, thanks! I might do a step by step install with pics for future reference.

I always use the valley pan with a little rtv around the ports. There are a few different part numbers for the pan, 2 for a 350. It says one is for like 67-72 and the other for 73+. I have always used the 73+ #MS96027 even on my 68 #5 heads and never had a problem. Don't really know what the differences are besides one is double the money..

Nice find. The A4's are decent piece. Do yourself a favor and get the Mr Gasket seals. They are a heck of a lot less problematic than the POS factory turkey tray design. Save and trim your old turkey tray so you can use it as a oil splash guard. Trim it so you can still hang it on the locating dowels. The rubber Mr Gasket seals are far superior. I've used both and have always eventually had leaks with the crappy turkey tray style. Here is a link with more details.
