AC blowing air from under dash with AC off?

I read in some other source that there should be a check valve from the main vac source to the plastic ball, and I don't see it in my car...

Is there any way of checking the climate control itself?

With the car running, move the mode control through the various modes. If it goes from blowing from the floor to the dash vents to the defroster vents as you change to those modes then I would say its working.

Yes, if the car is moving you will feel airflow from the floor vents even if the system is off

So what happens when the Cold AC is on,will it still flow air from the outside?

Once the ac is turned on max the vacuum manifold closes off the fresh air from outside and recirculates the cabin air. If you move it off max it will combine the two.
