Damn looks pretty complicated lol. Hopefully we can rent one from autozone or something so we can figure this thing out. Thanks Bonnewagon!

My clutch wasn't engaging as well about a month ago, turned out to be the lower pressure switch. As soon as I installed the new one which was $18.00 at discount auto parts the the clutch engage right away again. Here was my post and some pic's.

I actually bought that same can at walmart to test that If I had an freon problem, after finding it wasn't the freon and It was going right into the danger indication of the gage I walked back into walmart got my money back and proceeded with the next step which corrected the problem with replacing the low pressure switch.

Alright thanks guys I'll see what I can do. I might be able to go over to his house tomorrow but I haven't heard from him so I don't know. Well, atleast the car runs and drives good now since we figured out the no spark, and once we fix this, we'll be one step closer to finishing the resto.

Ok guys, I finally went back over to my friends house and we jumped that connecter on the switch and the compressor engaged with the A/C on, but wasn't blowing cold air. I'm assuming its out of freon?

:bump:

:bump: Come on guys...

Sounds like your just out of freon and that could be why your clutch isn't engaging. If your jumping the switch and your clutch is engaging but not blowing cold air it might not be the switch and just low on freon. When I jumped my switch the compressor immediately starting blowing cold air again that's how I knew I had a bad switch. I also did pick up a can with the gage of R-134 just to double check freon reading and after checking and not needing I walk right back into walmart and got my money back.

Thanks for pointing that out. To get it recharged dont you have to take it to a certified A/C shop for R12 systems?
