Advance auto parts 25% off!

Sometimes I purchase mechanical parts that are specific to my cars from Advance. Many times you can put them in your "cart", not act on them right away, and then get an email from Advance offering a 20 or 25% discount, which I will then take advantage of. Sometimes I find that even with Advance's 25% off, it's not cheaper than purchasing elsewhere. This week I wanted to buy some bottles of Zinc additive to have on hand for oil changes. Advance had them for $10 a bottle, and I was offered the 25% discount which would bring it to $7.50 a bottle. Before making the purchase I checked to see if Walmart carried it -- and they did for $5.84 a bottle. So the moral of the story, watch out for those Advance Auto discounts.

Advance used to be great.

Now my local store is discussing.

The prices are ridiculous but if you tell them AutoZone has it cheaper they will lower the price and beat it.

NO ONE will beat Walmarts oil prices!!!!!!

Advance and Autozone will not price match them at all.

The only one that comes close is Costco when they have the Mobil 1 on sale 6 quarts for $27.......plus a $60 membership....................but I just tag along with my father in law!!!!!!

So the moral of the story, watch out for those Advance Auto discounts.

They have discounts? Hell with my vet "discount" in store doesn't really do anything.

I'm with Turna, Walmart oil is the bomb. Most of their 5 qt synthetic jugs are less than $30 and most of their 5 qt conventional jugs are less than $20. Plus they sell most Motorcraft filters for $4-5.

Yeah, I buy the 5qt. bottles of conventional. They're like $12.50.

Walmart.com is a marketplace like amazon so its either people reselling until they get in trouble with MAP or walmart just throwing volume at the manufacturer when they complain.

At my old job we were a fulfillment center for Amazon for some automotive stuff. We didnt make much but couldnt turn away the volume. Plus alot of our own customers were selling on amazon as well. Amazon was using us for Optima batteries until they had the volume to make a case with Optima that they should be direct then our weekly semi load of optima in and out stopped.

So to go with that, watch until walmart has a monopoly from undercutting then jacks the price up, or gets the reputation in everyones mind that they are always the cheapest and people stop checking.

I actually like the 25% of deals at Advanced. My bank offers a 10% sometimes 20% discount if I link their store using my debit card so 45% off total up to a certain limit ofcourse. I usually order SEM paint from them. Regular price $16.59 - discounts comes out to $9.12 a can. Buy 4 and = free shipping... Can't beat that!
