The Summit pan with the windage tray and scraper is more important than capacity. You need to worry about oil control at higher rpm. Engine HP doesn't dictate oil capacity. Crank stroke and rpm dictate oil pan needs. I ran my 548 making 910 hp with 6 qts in it. But I had a good pan that got the oil away from the crank at 7500 rpm and didn't cause it to aerate.
