Alignment with UMI adjustable arm

Hey Guys I have an at home alignment tool coming in next week and need ideas on how to adjust the upper arms. With the car on the ground at ride height I took one of the bolts out for the hiem joints and like I thought the arm shot forward. Any ideas on a better way than jacking up the car every time I need to make the adjustment?

Arms I have:

don;t take the bolts out just loosen the bolts enough to put in aligement shims they are open on one side slides right in there

oh and put the shims where it bolts to the frame not the hiem joint
