Why not go with a CS 130 or CS 144 alternator? The CS 130 is a smaller size alternator closer to the size of a stock 10 or 12 si. It's 105 amp and easy to adapt. You just need a SI to CS plug adapter. I've been very happy with mine and I'm not using a serpentine system. If you later plan to go serpentine, you can still use the CS alternator but change the pulley. The 144 type is a slightly larger body and puts out 140 amp.
I have a DC Power 180 amp V-belt alternator on my Monte that I bought about 10 years ago and it still works flawlessly, for me it was all about idle voltage (130 amps) since the list of power drawing accessories on my car will overload any stock style alternator in this amperage range at idle, they also now offer many colors as options now.
With everything on I still have 14 volts at idle, this is one of those you get what you pay for things.
