Are dick brakes a new product?

It's for dads that have teenage daughters.

I remember seeing them on Firebirds/TA/GTAs while working at a Pontiac dealer in '90. Musta been the last year or so before they went to rear discs?

The base 3rd gens without G80 got AL drums All actual IROCs, '91-92 Z28's and GTA's should have rear disks.

I've seen aluminum drums on various F-bodies, Malibus, Grand Prix, etc. They could've been replaced on the Malibu and GP.

My '78 Caballero has aluminum drums. I do not recall buying/installing them, and my FIL never mentioned replacing them either, so I don't know if they were factory installed or not.
I have not checked my '79 El Camino to see what drums it has.

when these cars were being built, they could've indiscriminately used what they had available on the assembly line. We know GM has been known to do sh*t like this from time to time.
