Aluminum Core Support

#1 - Did cutlass ever come with aluminum core support?
#2 - Will one fit in my cutlass with no problems, editing, fabricating, etc...
#3 - How much do they usually go for?
#4 - How much weight difference is there between the normal core support and the aluminum one?

Any input is greatly appreciated

1.) No they normally came in buick centurys and buick limited
2.) It will fit, possibility that the headlight bucket area may need to be opened up a bit
3.) I paid $70 for mine out of the yard, but that's cause I didn't specify it was aluminum 😀. Most guys want 150 to 300
4.) Normal support 24lb, aluminum is 12lb

I've run across 3 aluminum core supports and they where all in Pontiacs, Lemans, Grand Am's and Grand Prix's. All of then between 78-81.

^^ Maybe they're available in all g-bodies then. But I will agree that I've only seen them in 78-81 g-bodies.

I've parted out two 1978 Grand Am's, one had an aluminum core support and had A. C., the other had a steel core support and was a heat only car. I don't know if this means anything, I just thought I'd throw this out there for the informatio.

I only ever found one and it was at Carlisle car show.

The 85 86 GM Olds cutlass parts book I have shows no part number for rad support but does show hood.

But over years it seem 80-82 r the years top find them most . About $300 seem a average when they come up for sale
