BUT ANYWAYS.... CONGRATS ON THE SALE MAN, GLAD TO HEAR YOU WERE ABLE TO GET HOW MUCH YOU WERE LOOKING FOR... it ALWAYS hurts having to part with any parts but cash in hand helps to lessen the sting a little bit...
 
Engine had no rocker setups, so no roller rockers haha. It was a roller cam setup, roller lifters, spider retainer..ext.

About the 360 thing, are you sure? man all the classes for racing always cabbed us at 358, so i figured going 060 over put us at 358, i feel like an *ss for being wrong lol.
 
it's not just the bore to calculate the displacement

.7853982 x bore² x stroke x number of cylinders.
 
Besides the math I just figured if a 355 is .030" over and a 357 is .040" over a .060" has to be around 360 or so cubes.
 
For those who want the exhaustive breakdown of the math:

Displacement = (bore/2)^2 * stroke * pi * number of cylinders

Displacement = (4.060/2)^2 * 3.48 * pi * 8

Displacement = 2.030^2 * 3.48 * pi * 8

Displacement = 4.1209 * 3.48 * pi * 8

Displacement = 14.340732 * pi * 8

Displacement = 45.052738 * 8

Displacement = 360.421904

Oh and i'm up in PA right now not NC lol, yeah i wouldn't expect someone to drive 10 hours for a SBC 350 shortblock. You'd be more in cost of gas lol


Its a hard sell because its an unusable core. First, its a 360ci SBC, not a 358, second, its no longer rebuildable at 0.060 over.
So its a crap shoot for someone.
You might get lucky with someone that needs the roller set up, the unknown cam makes even that a stretch.
I would change the add to feature the roller set up, the one head, the new water pump, and hell, even the engine stand. Then I would list it at $350 firm. It will go.

A 350 bored 060 over is a 358, do you're homework friend.
An unusable core? i had paperwork to go with the engine, it was basically a NEW bottom end and you wouldn't have any problems if built right. Second, if the engine did blow up and say only spun a main bearing, how is the block then shot too?

A crap shoot? No, get real and look at what you're buying for sucks sake.

As far as the roller setup goes, yeah it was basically unknown as to what it was, all i know is the cam profile was similar/matched to what went into camaros from the late 80's.

I wouldn't have spoken up if I didn't know what I was talking about...that being said, I wasn't out to "offend" you..... you asked why it hadn't sold, and gave you my opinion, I stand by it. You didn't like it, or agree, I'm OK with that. If I'm shopping for a sbc, I personally wouldnt buy one that's already .060 over. As I wouldn't buy one that's been zero decked for the same reason. Its not rebuildable.
So an unrebuildable sbc with unkown cam and one cyl head may be a deal at $500 for someone, it just wouldnt be for me,

Sorry about the 360 thing, i'm just used to racing lingo and thought a 350 060 was a 358.
I wasn't really that offended, the only thing that offended me was the crap shoot part, i understand all reasons given about being skeptical, but i did offer that anybody who comes to look, as long as they BUY can pop the main caps off themselves and check bearings, anything they need ,too know for certain that this was a GOOD, low usage bottom end to build from.

As far as unrebuildable, thats a matter of what happens and opinion. I've seen engines be rebuilt before that didn't need any cylinder attention, they just spun bearings.
