...and I think i need a trans...

Whichever trans company or converter you go with. Give them the specs of your cam and engine and the kind of driving nitrous forced induction and they will let you know what converter and stall speed you'll need. I have been running 400 rpm below stall because of guessing on my old th350.

yeah you are in awkward territory. The 350c "can" be built, and the lockup function is nice ( had one in my SS ).

But th350 parts are going to be your cheapest way to go fast with minimal downtime from where you are now.
Using the same crossmember, shift linkage, and driveshaft *
*The bellhousing to mounting pad on the th350-350c are all the same. However most likely your 350c would be short tail so you would want to swap for a "short tail" th350. The th350-350c could be had in 3 different tail lengths so check before you swap.

200-4r will be more expensive to build. Bonus would be slightly better gearing, lockup, OD and re-use of your driveshaft.
Downside is it takes some fab work to get it all squared away with the TV Cable. Different Driveshaft, and it would need wiring in a toggle switch or aftermarket setup to control the lockup function.

th400 is stronger in every way to the th350 but heavier, need crossmember, and different yolk on the driveshaft. I recall something different about the kickdown as well

So depending on your needs, setup and budget I am sure we could all spend your $$ for you dependant upon your setup and budget.

I looked at both the TCI and Hughes transmissions that you mentioned at the beginning of this thread. They both look like nice transmissions. I don't have any personal experience with either. There is a lot of venom out there on the internet against TCI. That doesn't mean all of their stuff is bad. I couldn't find a review on either trans. If it was me, I would try to find a good local builder based on word of mouth and either build up your TH350C or have a TH350 built up. I have a great guy down here but you would spend around $300 on shipping.

spoke to Hughes and I am doing a th350 reverse manual valve body no trans brake and a GM30HD converter which is speced at : 3k stall based on the cam specs I gave him... I technically have the money to do it right now but I am trying to save up some money before I do it.

looking at 2160 thru my account at my shop for the trans, torque converter and B&M ratchet shifter...

still very discouraged right now...

Well, cheer up. You are going to have a really nice car. This is part of having/building an old car. If it was easy, everyone would do it.

cheer up. To be a millionaire with old cars you better start as a billionaire !

Meh, I could easily drop another $3k into my car and it would look and sound the same without being any faster :/.
That's on top of the $6k + I have in it not including the orig purchase price. If I add it up I get depressed so instead I cut a few donuts and wonder how I will pay for the tires I just burnt off LOLOLOLOL

Timing sucks being spring and all. Preference is to break sh*t in November or so, thus giving your the winter to save funds

this is true ! i still have my camaro to drive lol and the monte is close to being done, sort of...
Well dang, missed it. O might just possibly be putting my TCI streetfighter TH350 up for sale soon. I have the MADE IN USA unit. Its been one heluva trans and I've never had any problems out of it. Actually, i got pulled over once because a cop thought i was trying to break the tires loose going into 2nd. Had to explain to him the $1100 sticker on my window causes tires to break free lol!
