You can get frame mounts and stuff from a late 80's monte with the 4.3, that is all I needed for mine.

check these out. These are for an astro van v8 conversion. Flip them around on the other side and they're now a sbc to 4.3 conversion

You can mount the 4.3 in the same sbc location, but it defeats the purpose of having the 4.3. All the weight is moved forward and theres not as much room between radiator and engine. I'm not aware of how they mounted the 4.3 in the montes but I assume it was just in the sb holes since it was before the vortec 4.3's... and then moved the crossmember or extension off the crossmember. Try out those conversion brackets see how they work for you.

What year s10 is this off? What have you decided to do for fuel? Too bad you didn't steal it off a silverado you could have sent me your pcm and could give you extra power/mileage 😱

u know they have turbo manifolds and AWD transfer cases for this combo

Jr, be sure to post pics of the interior as you get it done.

The 4.3 should be a dependable swap, especially if you have the wrecked S10 right there. My Wifes old Monte had a TBI 4.3, your right, all you need is the mounts for it. the 4l60 is the same length as a 700r4 I believe, so a shorted driveshaft will be needed. Take lots of pictures, I love pictures, lol 😀

The motor and trans are out of a 01 S10 pickup, and my wagon already has a 231 in it so I need the monte 4.3 frame mounts. And it is being built as a cruiser for my daughter. I am figuring out the fuel pump issues next week, when I get the frame back from powder coating.
